2018 Jeep Renegade Review
If you expect your car to make a statement, what is yours saying? If you were driving a 2018 Jeep Renegade through the Richmond, Detroit, or New Baltimore area, it would probably tell people that you’re fun, unique, and a little funky. Is your car saying that or is it saying something entirely different?
Here at Dick Huvaere’s Richmond CDJR, we know you have plenty of options and you want to know all about what makes the Renegade different. We’ll give you the details on the things you want to know like what the technology is like, the gas mileage, and how many of your friends you can fit inside, so you can decide if the Jeep Renegade is right for you.
2018 Renegade: Technology
The 2018 Renegade comes in four different trims levels, all of which come standard with integrated Voice Command with Bluetooth®, which means you have a better chance at being safe when you’re making or answering phone calls from behind the wheel. A boost up to the second trim level, the Latitude, will bump up your tech display from 5 to 7 inches, giving you a better and easier to read screen.
Stick with the Latitude package, jump to the Altitude, or even go all the way with the Limited model and you’ll find that you have access to a one-year subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. With this subscription, you can hear your favorite throwback jams or your favorite comedian from the comfort of your front seat.
Powerful Yet Efficient
Every version of the Jeep Renegade, except the Limited version, comes standard with a 1.4L I4 Turbo Engine that boasts 160 horsepower. The Limited model is equipped with a 2.4L I4 M-Air Engine, with an output of 180 horsepower. This engine choice is also an optional addition for the lower trim levels as well, allowing for plenty of options when configuring your ideal Renegade. For a little extra traction, each model also has an available 4X4 upgrade.
Your Renegade is also road trip ready, with an EPA-estimated 24 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. With a 12.7-gallon tank, you won’t have to stop the fun to get gas, only snacks.
Renegade Interior Space
For a small SUV, the Renegade is large on interior space. With 41.1 inches of headroom in the front row, even the tallest passengers will experience a comfortable ride, while the people in the backseat will enjoy a spacious 40.5 inches. 41.2 inches of legroom in the front makes for plenty of space even if you’re over six feet.
No trip to the lake is complete without a great cooler and some beach blankets, but with the 2018 Renegade, it’s no worry. There is plenty of space for everything you want to bring with the 50.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats. Go pick up four of your closest friends and head out Lake St. Clair or Anchor Bay for the day!
