The new model year looks to be a banner year for Jeep, with the release of some exciting vehicles this year. Between redesigns and mid-cycle refreshes, there’s a great deal about which to be excited. Among the developments are the updates we’re seeing for the newest model of Cherokee.

This sleek small crossover SUV is already one of the more exciting go-anywhere, do-anything cars on the market today. It offers outstanding best-in-class off-roading, great comfort and technology, and it just looks good.

But what can drivers in Richmond, New Baltimore, or Detroit expect in terms of customizing their Cherokee? Let’s check out the options available on the new five main 2019 Jeep Cherokee trim levels, and learn where you can go to get behind the wheel as soon as it hits showrooms.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Trim Levels

The five 2019 Jeep Cherokee trim levels are the base Latitude, the Latitude Plus, the Limited, the range-topping Overland, and the off-roader Trailhawk®. The base engine for each is the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. It’s got plenty of power in its own right, with 180 horsepower plus 171 lb-ft of torque.

You can, however, step up to one of two other optional engines: a 3.2-liter V6 with 271 horsepower plus 239 lb-ft, or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out 270 horsepower plus 295 lb-ft of torque. Front wheel or AWD are available on all trims except the Trailhawk®, which is equipped with a special AWD by default.

Base Features

The base level trim gets a package of features that are anything but basic. In fact, it comes with a full Uconnect® infotainment system driven by a large 7-inch touchscreen interface that’s among the best on the market. You also get a USB port, six speakers, and even full smartphone integration for your Apple or your Android device.

Higher Level Features

Stepping it up adds more luxury and technology. The Latitude Plus gives you comfort features like leather upholstery inserts, keyless ignition and entry, power driver seat, and leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel. Though only the second trim, it feels luxurious, especially when you add features like passive keyless entry, push-button start, and satellite radio to the mix.

The Limited and Overland step it up further with such features as an 8.4-inch enhanced touchscreen interface, power passenger seat, full leather upholstery, and safety features like Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, and safety sensors. The top-level trim even gives you sound dampening cabin technology, nine-speaker sound system, HD Radio™, GPS navigation, and more.

Off-Roading

The Trailhawk® trim sits off on its own, designed specifically to deliver outstanding, best-in-class off-road capabilities. These include the Active Drive II with Active Drive Lock AWD system, plus specially tuned off-road suspension and beefy off-road wheels and tires. Increased ground clearance and underbody skid plates ensure you won’t damage your undercarriage while trailblazing, and hill ascent and descent controls let you get going in difficult terrain.

Extra Options

It doesn’t stop there in terms of customizing your car. There are also many options packages like the Trailhawk® Comfort and Convenience Package, the Trailer Tow Group Package, the Technology Group Package, and more.
