2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review
The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee finds itself right between adventurous off-roader and practical family hauler, offering features to enhance its comfort, capability, and power. The new model year brought more updates and upgrades as well, expanding the options for the Grand Cherokee.
Drivers in Richmond, New Baltimore, and Detroit can learn more about the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee with our in-depth vehicle review.
The standard engine for the Grand Cherokee is a 3.6-liter V6 reaching 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is plenty capable for on- and off-road applications, but those looking for more power have a bevy of upgraded engine options: A 5.7-liter V8 with 360 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 240 horsepower, a 6.4-liter V8 with 475 horsepower, and a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 707 horsepower are also available.
Depending on the engine you choose, the Grand Cherokee can tow up to 7,400 pounds, and it offers multiple four-wheel-drive options to tackle virtually any off-road environment or weather conditions. The performance models are designed more for entertainment than adventure, but they still offer the capability that Jeep is known for.
The new Grand Cherokee has some great new interior features. It seats five people in supportive, comfortable seats with standard cloth upholstery. Passenger space is abundant in all seating positions, and passengers will enjoy the wide, comfortable cushions and ample padding for support on long drives. The rear seats recline as well, giving you more options.
With the rear seats upright, there’s 36.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to over 63 cubic feet with the seats folded. This is more than enough space to load all your passengers’ gear. A power tailgate is available, as well as padded cargo areas to protect both the cargo and the interior of the vehicle.
The Grand Cherokee is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone compatibility, Bluetooth® compatibility, and two USB charging ports. For all models above base, the Grand Cherokee comes with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, which features sharp graphics and large icons. The system itself boasts a highly intuitive interface, making it simple and easy to navigate through the menu options to find the infotainment features you’re looking for.
For safety, a rearview camera, parking sensors, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are standard. These features provide you with visibility and awareness of the area around your vehicle, ensuring that you’re always alerted to potential obstructions and collisions, regardless of the driving scenario.
