2022 Ram 3500: Performance & Power
The 2022 Ram 3500 comes standard with a 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine. As it utilizes variable-cam timing, it is able to generate Best-in-Class 410 horsepower, which certainly gets you where you need to be. When paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission, it gives you a level of refinement not often seen in heavy-duty trucks. Additionally, it boasts 429 lb-ft of torque, which powers the towing you’ll be doing.
Aside from the Herculean engine, the Ram 3500 offers two more even more impressive engines, if you can believe it. The next in line is the 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine. This offers a max 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. The other option is the monstrous 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine. It boasts a 420 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.
2022 Ram 3500: Towing Capacity
The towing capacity of the Ram 3500 varies depending on the engine and configurations you choose. This means you can start with the standard 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine that has a max towing capacity of 18,210 pounds, and end with the 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine having a maximum towing capacity of 37,090 pounds. The classic Cummins® engine is nestled towards the middle with a max towing capacity of 22,670 pounds.
The 2022 Ram 3500 comes with technology to help you with towing. A prime example is the Digital Rearview Mirror with Tow Mode. This feature uses an LCD monitor to give you a real-time video stream from a rear-facing camera, and when Tow Mode is turned on, it gives you the view behind the trailer or upfit from a mounted camera.
