2022 Jeep Compass Trim Levels Review

Seize the moment. Turn it into a memory. The Jeep Compass provides you with the versatility, performance, experience, and satisfaction that comes from driving a Jeep SUV.
The team at Dick Huvaere’s Richmond Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has prepared a 2021 Jeep Compass trim level review to reveal the SUV’s potential. Drivers near the areas of Richmond, New Baltimore, and Detroit, MI, can read more about the SUV below.
2022 Jeep Compass Trim Levels: Common Features
There are six 2022 Jeep Compass trim levels. Each presents drivers with an array of interior and exterior features, powered by the same engine.
The trims start with the Jeep Compass Sport. Its 2.4L Tigershark® engine with MultiAir® 2 valve train system unleashes a blended performance. This capability connects with the Compass and produces the following specs:
- 177 horsepower
- 172 lb-ft of torque
- EPA-estimated 22 city/31 highway MPG
You and your passengers can also enjoy the comfortable seating of low-back cloth bucket seats.
While you are exploring new areas, you can get in sync with the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Drivers can access infotainment through the standard Uconnect® 5 touchscreen with an 8.4-inch display.
Drivers gain an extra measure of comfort, with the Jeep Compass Latitude. The vehicle adds premium cloth/vinyl bucket seats for even more relaxation.
Jeep Compass Sport
In addition to the features mentioned above, the Jeep Compass Sport has a few more tricks up its sleeve. The base trim features the ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera for instance—a handy tool when you need to check that the coast is clear before you reverse.
You’ll also enjoy the convenience of remote keyless entry, a time-saving technology that will help you get in the vehicle and on the road without fumbling for your keys.
The Sport comes standard with the Advanced Safety Group, a package that includes:
- Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection
- Active Lane Management
- Pedestrian and Cyclist Emergency Detection
Jeep Compass Latitude
Key style and function upgrades make their way to the Latitude. You’ll notice the larger 17-inch silver painted aluminum wheels. A little bit higher, the black roof rails hint at newfound possibilities in this Jeep Compass trim level.
You’ll notice two additions to the front fascia: the fog lamps and the cornering lamps that sit on either side in the housing below the headlamps. You’ll have more visibility when you need it most—in more ways than just lighting.
That’s right—the Compass Latitude also features power heated exterior mirrors. Even in cold weather, you can quickly melt ice and snow from the sideview mirrors and travel more safely.
Jeep Compass Latitude Lux
Be a little more luxurious in your intent. The Latitude Lux is certainly a premium Jeep Compass trim level, complete with more comfort features than in the earlier trims.
Heated leather-trimmed front seats look stunning and will keep you nice and warm during those chilly winter months. The same can be said for the heated steering wheel. Plus, you’ll have the creature comforts of an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat!
Meanwhile, the Uconnect® 5 system sees an upgrade. In this trim level, you’ll enjoy a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen along with the same great connectivity features found in the earlier trims.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk
Oh, the sporty style! This Jeep Compass trim level outdoes itself with sharp looks—and we do mean sharp. Those beautifully angular 17-inch diamond cut aluminum wheels may be the best-looking wheels available for this model—and that’s saying something.
The gloss black roof and black and red hood decal are the icing on the cake. However, the Trailhawk is about more than style. This trim, as the name implies, is best known for its off-road chops. Find your bearings, with its Trail Rated® capability and off-road suspension as well.
To complete the off-road image, the Trailhawk comes with distinctive red tow hooks. You may need to recover your Jeep from time to time—they’ll be perfect for the job.
Jeep Compass Limited
The Limited features the diamond cut aluminum wheels from the previous trim but this time, in an 18-inch version. They add to the allure of this Jeep Compass’s exterior, already enhanced by the 2-tone paint group and the contrasting gloss black roof.
You’ll recognize the Limited right away by the chrome grille rings with gloss black surround. The iconic seven slots—a Jeep staple—really stand out and shine on this trim level.
Jeep Compass High Altitude
The culmination of our climb up the Jeep Compass trim levels is the High Altitude. This top-tier trim offers virtually all of the most advanced features available for the model, save for some off-road features exclusive to the Trailhawk.
So, what will you find at such exhilarating heights? The High Altitude has the largest wheels of the lineup—19 inches—as well as the most premium lighting, including:
- Premium LED projector headlamps
- Automatic high-beam headlamps
- LED taillamps
- LED fog lamps
You’ll have your moment in the sun, too, with the dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Riders in the front and the rear rows will be bathed in the sun’s rays! Tech-wise, this Compass puts a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel in the driver’s line of sight.
